Matthew Farrell

Matthew Farrell is the longest serving member of the STA Mt Olive Branch and has been instrumental in the growth and development of the club over the past seven years.

Originally from Liverpool, England, Matthew was brought up in a soccer cauldron and excelled in the sport from a young age. As a youth player Matthew regularly played alongside some of England’s best players including Steven Gerard and Joey Barton. As an adult, Matthew played for Southport FC, Burscough AFC and Warrington Town FC in a career that spanned over ten years.

For Matthew, becoming a coach was a natural progression and he is passionate about passing on his knowledge, experience and love of the game to his players . He is always keen to learn and improve and he currently holds a Uefa A license, USC Premier Diploma, USC Director of Coaching Diploma, USCCoach Development Diploma, and is a current USSF B License candidate.

Not only is Matthew the STA MOSC Director of Coaching but holds roles as the Blair Academy Head Soccer Coach, U17 Boys New Jersey ODP Head coach, Clifton Elite Men’s Soccer Head Coach and a Coach Educator for the USC.

Off the field he spends his time with his wife and three young sons who love soccer as much as their dad.
