Matthew Farrell is the longest-serving member of STA Mount Olive and has been instrumental in the branch’s growth over the past twelve years. Originally from Liverpool, England, Matthew grew up surrounded by the game, competing alongside top talents such as Steven Gerrard and Joey Barton before enjoying a playing career with Southport FC, Burscough AFC, and Warrington Town FC.
A natural progression into coaching has allowed Matthew to share his passion, knowledge, and experience with the next generation of players. He holds some of the game’s top qualifications, including the UEFA A License, USSF A License, and USC Premier Diploma, and also serves as a USSF C License Coach Educator.
Alongside his role as STA Mount Olive’s Technical Director and the Head of Coach Recruitment for NSG, Matthew is also Head Soccer Coach of Hoboken FC Men’s Soccer, and a Coach Educator for United Soccer Coaches and the USSF.
Away from the pitch, Matthew enjoys time with his wife and three young sons, all of whom share his love for the game.
