STA to join Girls Development Academy
STA Soccer Club is thrilled to announce that we have accepted the invitation from US Soccer to become part of the Girls Development Academy.
After a rigorous application, assessment, interview and presentation process, we are delighted to share that we have been granted full status for the 2019/20 season and will have Girls teams at the U14,15,16,17 and 19 age groups.
This announcement cements the club’s position as one of the most progressive organizations in the country and reaffirms our intention to provide the very best development environment and eventual collegiate exposure for all of our players.
We now eagerly await the opportunity to continue to showcase our approach to coach, player and club development on a National scale and look forward to the benefits this involvement will bring to our membership at large.

Tim Verschuren of Poortugaal, Holland joined STA in 2013 and has quickly gone on to establish himself as one of the brightest young coaches in the country. Holding a USSF A Youth License, Verschuren who also holds an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma became the Girls Director of Coaching in February 2017.
With an Undergraduate Degree in Sports Management from the Hague University, Holland, the former NJIT Women's Soccer Assistant and current girls talent scout for US Soccer, was responsible for leading a number of the STA girls teams to National events and to both Regional and State successes. Tim has been instrumental in the recent commitments of a number of the club's female players to NCAA Division I programs, immediately demonstrating the value he brings to his role. We are very fortunate to have him. Tim is also the assistant women soccer coach at FDU Teaneck
Tim, lives with his wife Kelly in Flanders, NJ and should you have any questions about the Girls Program or any of the new Player Development Initiatives and how they relate to your daughter, he can be reached at: tim@stasoccer.org.
